In a world increasingly isolated and separate, community is still readily available—we just have to look around. In Creating Community Wherever You Are, Deanna Nakosteen opens our eyes to what’s possible. When we create community, we create relationships and meaningful connections. When we live our lives with connection and meaning, we broaden our capacity for love.Humankind has lived a tribal lifestyle for millions of years.

We went from living in tribes, which gave us support, love, family, food, and safety, to becoming increasingly separated.  By creating community we feel belonging, togetherness, cooperation. A community has shared values, and close relationships.  We all crave connection and meaning in our lives. Living in community is one way of tapping into both of these.

Having spent 30+ years in an intentional community, Deanna shares her experience of this unique way of living.  Intentional communities come in a wide array of forms, coming together around a common vision or shared values. Deanna’s community consists of 25 adults and children on a 5 acre piece of land sharing a large kitchen, garden, and orchards.
